We have had a wonderful start to the academic year and it is great to see the Academy going from strength to strength. One of the highlights in the first term for me was Year 7 and 11 boys being crowned Bristol School’s Rugby Champions. Well done boys, a brilliant achievement! We also had many other great events taking place including an inspirational Remembrance Service at Bristol Cathedral with our choir joining forces with the rest of the local Oasis Academies to celebrate being peace ambassadors whilst paying our respect to those who have given so much so that we can enjoy freedom today. Our very talented drama students delivered an outstanding performance of A Midsummers Night’s Dream in front of a paying audience at Bristol Grammar School and we also saw students progressing on in the Future Chef Competition. It makes me very proud to see our students doing fantastically well, taking up the opportunities on offer and really excelling in everything they are doing.
As you may have noticed, our newsletter has had a superb make over.
I am very excited by this new and innovative ‘Best of Brightstowe’ newsletter because it is our students Sophie Chamberlain, Nia Clarke, Oliver Drew, Alhonsa Jassem, Noemi Korenova and Jake Morgan who have given it a complete overhaul and claimed it as their own. This has been carried out with the positive support and advice from local firm Boomsatsuma and Bristol Works so that our students can work alongside other professionals and higher education students in the production of the newsletter.
I hope you like the newsletter as much as I do. Our students are very excited to introduce BoB, our ‘Best of Brightstowe’ mascot. Click here to view it
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I look forward to welcoming all of the students back in the New Year.
