At Oasis Academy Brightstowe, we work closely with the local churches who gift Chaplaincy to us
The emphasis of the Chaplaincy Team is pastoral, and is a service for listening to and supporting our students, families and staff alike. Building relationships is key to the support we offer. To do this our team makes sure they have a visible presence in the Academy and community. Whether you need someone to talk to, practical help, a quiet space or a place to explore faith and prayer, the Chaplaincy Team is on hand to offer you support.
As part of the Academy's aim to develop all students holistically, Chaplaincy services are offered throughout the school day. Activities involved include talking to students across the school grounds, one-to-one mentoring sessions, home visits, practical work projects, storytelling and supporting teachers in their lessons. The service is entirely optional, therefore students are able to get involved with our team as much or little as they feel necessary.
The team is a Christian Chaplaincy, however we are inclusive of all at Brightstowe therefore individuals of any faith or none are welcome to use the service. If there is something our team cannot sepcifically hlep with, they will do their best to signpost you and support you in other ways.
Our Student Chaplain is Matt Holman (St. Edyth's Church, Sea Mills). Matt leads the Chaplaincy team, which is made up of volunteers from our local churches and the community.
