Legally, teachers can keep students behind after-school up to 15 minutes without notifying their parents. For a punishment any longer than this, a note will be sent home and a specific date arranged, so that the parent is aware of the arrangement.
If your child is unwell, you must phone the Academy before 8.40am on each day of sickness. Please call 0117 3167332.
If you do not do this, your child will be marked absent and a truancy call sent out automatically.
If your child is unwell for a period longer than 5 days a doctors note must be produced on their return to the Academy, otherwise their period of absence will be investigated.
Students may wear one pair of stud earrings, a discreet ring and a watch. Any more than this will be confiscated.
Our experience in other Academies is that if everyone is wearing the uniform, it gives a sense of pride and confidence.
