Oasis Academy Brightstowe – Most Improved School in the Country

63 per cent of students at Oasis Academy Brightstowe have achieved grades 5A* - C in their English and maths GCSEs, which places the Academy above the national average.

63 per cent of students at Oasis Academy Brightstowe have achieved grades 5A* - C in their English and maths GCSEs, which places the Academy above the national average.

The results represent a 33 per cent increase on 2011 levels for the specialist maths and ICT academy in Shirehampton which, less than four years ago,was in ‘Special Measures’.

Across all subjects, 96 per cent of students achieved five GCSEs at grade A*- C, up from 82 per cent last year.

The results make the Academy the most improved school in the Country and are testament to the hard work and focus of the students and staff.

Principal, Matthew Butler, said: “I am thrilled for the students who have met all possible expectations. This is excellent news for the students, the staff and the local community that we serve. This confirms that the future is bright at Brightstowe.”
