Enterprise Day Supports Charities

The students managed to raise the impressive total despite having to pay back small ‘loans’ which covered the materials costs of the products they made. The event was kindly sponsored by UK Waste Oil and Industrial Fuel Services company ‘Eco-Oil’ who donated £250 towards prizes for the event including the Brightstowe Business Cup, the winner of which will be announced at a presentation assembly in the near future.

Stephenson House made the most money, raising an impressive £186.07p altogether.

11S were the tutor group who made the most money. They sold cakes, purses and xmas stockings to raise a fantastic £86.63p.

The money will be split between the Academy charity Stop The Traffik and a nominated charity of the students’ choice.

Business Studies Teacher Keryn Perkins said:

“The event itself was a great success and I’m very impressed with the amount of money raised. I know it will mean a lot to the students to make such a significant contribution to the Academy charity.

“The students acted very professionally on market day and impressed the judges with their products and carefully crafted business plans, so it was very difficult to decide the individual prizes. The main problem that the students found was that their products were so popular a lot of them ran out of stock before the end of the day!

“We will be running an additional programme of enterprise activities in March when the Academy will be having a collapsed curriculum day and each year group will work alongside a business professional.”

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
