Each of the five House Communities, Park, Moore, Cousins, Blackwell and Stephenson were competing against each other for the winning trophy and the students went head to head in a range of traditional track and field activities.
With the sun shining, the running events, long jump and triple jump, javelin and shotput all took place on the sports field, whilst the high jump competition was held in the sports hall.
Almost 90% of all Academy students took part in a sporting event and those that were not competing showed a fantastic display of support for their Houses, waving banners and posters and cheering their fellow students on.
When the points from each individual event were totted up, Cousins House were announced as the winning team and received the prestigious trophy in an end of year celebration assembley.
PE Teacher Claire Kerslake said: "It was a fantastic day and the students absolutely loved it. We were very proud of the amount of students who took part in a sporting activity this year and their enthusiasm and talent was very pleasing to see.
The way the students were cheering each other on and supporting their House Community is a testiment to how well they have settled in to the new House system and shows that they really feel part of the Academy community."

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
