GCSE students Sarah Barnes and Jessica Townsend won the vouchers in a competition organised by the Academy to encourage Year 11 students to make the most of a comprehensive Academy revision programme.
Since March, the Academy has been running a variety of extra-curricular revision activities where students can access teaching support, ICT facilities and refreshments. Activities include an after-school Learning Café, lunchtime study sessions and Easter Revision classes that ran throughout the school holiday.
Students are expected to attend as many revision classes as possible and the Academy have put a range of incentives in place to encourage the students to do as much as they can to prepare for the examinations.
The students who attend the most revision classes will win themselves tickets to attend the Academy prom in July, whilst every student who attends an after school revision session is entered into a prize draw to win a £10 shopping voucher.
Sarah won the £50 voucher for spending the most time working on interactive revision questions and practice papers in a four-week period using the SAM Learning online revision tool, whilst Jessica was rewarded for managing to thoroughly revise more of her subjects than any of her fellow students.
Vice-Principal Brenda De Sousa-Wyles said: “The students’ attitude and attendance at revision classes has been very encouraging. They have shown a real commitment to exam preparation and are taking their GCSE’s very seriously.
We felt is was vital to offer the students as much support as possible and have taken every opportunity to provide them with the extra-curricular teaching support, learning resources and revision aids that they need.”

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
