Bristol Festival of School Sport

The three-day festival celebrates sports participation and achievement at all levels and is specifically aimed at pupils who do not usually represent their school in sport.

Students travelled to the University of Bristol’s Coombe Dingle Sports Complex to take part in a range of different sports, such as extreme golf, lacrosse and tag rugby – many of which were new to them.

The festival aims to provide opportunities for pupils to engage in both traditional and non-traditional sports at a grassroots level and to meet and interact with students from other local schools.

One student said: “The festival’s been brilliant! I never thought that there was a sport for me until today. I have tried so many unusual activities, like ultimate frisbee and found that I really enjoyed competing.”

Karl Robottom, Head of PE at Oasis Academy Brightstowe, said: “The festival is a great chance for those students who don’t currently represent the Academy in sports teams to enjoy competitive sport in an environment where all abilities are welcome and celebrated."

"The event aims to give these young people a positive experience of sport and advice on how to get involved in regular sporting activities in their local area.”

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
