‘Rising Stars’ is a rewards initiative run by Oasis Academy Brightstowe, designed to recognise those students that consistently work towards ‘getting it right’ in all areas of Academy life.
The event followed on from a similar ‘Rising Stars’ lunch held for students in the higher year groups, which took place the week before.
The ‘Rising Stars’ from each Tutor Group were given passes to the celebratory lunch which entitled them to a place at the specially laid tables in the main hall and a free meal from the canteen.
Steve Chalke, CEO of Oasis Community Learning, who was visiting the Academy, attended the event and made a special speech to congratulate the student’s for their hard work and effort.
Principal Julie Winterman said: “At Oasis Academy Brightstowe we try to emphasis a rewards culture and Rising Stars is a key part of this work. By praising individuals who are determined to do well and recognising their achievements, we encourage them to maintain a level of excellence.”
