The Academy declared Friday 13th March to be a non-uniform day and all students and staff donated money for the privilege of being allowed to wear what they liked.
Inclusion Provision Manager Julie Beeton organised an Inter-House Relay Race with a hilarious twist – all students had to complete the relay blindfold whilst bouncing on space hoppers!
The race took place during lunch time, when one girl and one boy from each year group assembled in the sports hall in their house groups. Many more students and staff came down to watch the race and support their fellow students.
Participants had to hop the relay course whilst relying on their team mates to guide them in the right direction, which was more complicated than it sounds! Many students lost all sense of direction with one ending up in the PE cupboard, and many landing with a slight bump!
Finally, a tie-breaker situation was reached between Park and Blackwell House. This meant that Mr Haines, PE teacher and Head of Blackwell House had to go head to head against Mr Robottom, Head of PE and Moore House Tutor, in a race for the title.
After much pushing, shoving and terrible cheating Mr Haines managed to bounce to victory and Park House were declared the winners!
Students did many other things to raise funds. Armed with buckets and sponges, the Year 7 girls’ basketball and football teams set out to the car park at lunch break to wash the staff cars. They managed to wash an impressive twenty-five cars in 45minutes, including the principal's, and by charging £3 each, raised a fantastic £75!
Well done to everybody who took part in the fundraising activity – a final total of money raised will be announced shortly!

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
