Almost one hundred pupils were invited to the gathering in the school drama studios where they received well deserved congratulations from Principal Julie Winterman and were treated to a sumptuous selection of cream cakes.
Since opening as an independent academy in September 2008, attendance levels have been rising and Principal Julie Winterman is proud of the overall improvement.
‘We wanted to reward the children for their fantastic attitude towards attendance last term,’ she said ‘Pupils have shown increasing dedication to their education and seem to relish learning. In fact, one pupil considered his work so important that he asked permission to get back to the classroom without even taking a cake!’
This kind of event is just a small part of the work done to support students and improve attendance. Dedicated Attendance Officers work with both the children and their parents to ensure that any problems receive the right level of support.
Additional support, guidance and motivation are provided by Learning Mentors who are based in each House Community, helping pupils implement personalised learning plans.

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
