Oasis Community Hub: Brightstowe has launched the Bristol NW Foodbank, an organisation which provides emergency food supplies to those in need. Since opening its doors in mid-February, the Foodbank has already given food to 48 people who could not afford to purchase any.
There are exciting changes ahead for Brightstowe this September. These changes are the result of extensive consultation with staff, local primary schools and a group of parents over proposals to take Brightstowe forward on its next step of development and enhance the education of our students.
Nine Brightstowe students performed Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" as part of the Annual Oasis Learning Community Awards "Best Team Endeavour" Event and won 2nd place! "It was really unexpected to get the award but it was really nice for someone else to recognise all the hard work that our team put into the performance," said Georgina Reed who played Peter Quince.
On May 10, a group of 10 students from Oasis Academy Brightstowe’s first ever Debate Team travelled to the University of Bristol to compete in the first ever Bristol Regional Debate Mate Cup. They faced off against opponents Fairfield High School and The City Academy in a gruelling 3-round debate competition and walked away with a 2nd place finish.
